3M™ Personal Auto

3M makes premium wraps films, paint protection films, and window tints that help consumers personalize their vehicles. To help visualize all the bold ways 3M products can transform a vehicle, Space150 and 3M joined forces to create an experience that puts the creative power in users' hands. The intuitive, easy-to-use tool allows users to select and customize their vehicle.


Customers have a difficult time visualizing our products on their vehicles. Even when given swatch books and product samples, it's impossible to see what the end result will be. This creates friction in the purchasing experience between our customers and the end-customer as it creates wasted time, money, and energy just to close a sale.

We saw an opportunity to differentiate from the competition by leveraging technology to create the first 3D Visualizer experience within the wrap industry to showcase our entire product portfolio. The 3M™ Restyling Studio was built to be accessible on all computers and mobile devices and walk customers through the entire purchasing journey.

Several design sprints focusing on the user experience were conducted influencing to the development of this clean, simple to use tool. We worked with Space150 to ideate and develop from concept to launch.
